Landmark is fortunate to work with and for Splatsin, formally known as the Spallumcheen Indian Band. In 2006, Landmark advised Splatsin throughout their Forest and Range Opportunity (FRO) negotiations with the MoFR. Through this process, Splatsin acquired 4 Non-Renewable Forest Licences (NRFL) in 3 different Timber Supply Areas with a total Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) of over 71,000m3.

Landmark’s project highlights include:

  • Drafting, signing and sealing an FSP that provides the operational framework to guide Splatsin’s forestry operations over a 671,063 ha area
  • Successfully advising Splatsin on all NRFL management decisions regarding development locations, timing, and target species and products
  • Completing development activities including layout and prescriptions, appraisals and permit applications, log marketing, harvest operations supervision, post harvest assessments and prescriptions
  • Employing Splatsin band members to work on Splatsin’s NRFL and other Landmark projects
